This unique handwoven was created for the amazing "Parenthood" project initiated by an Italian group of moms who love handwovens.
There is a bit of symbolism on the shawl, the tiny hemstitch is meant to represent the parental patience so needed in difficult moments. The stitched twigs represent our family life path, which is rarely straight. We go through different situations, through different difficulties (that's why there are darker and lighter colors of twigs on the shawl), but we stick together and struggle through these difficulties together. The shawl is kept in light tones as a symbol of this island where the sun always shines, peace, calmness and happiness surrounding us, where children run laughing on the warm bright sand…
